I think I read somewhere that the Sarpos,although the plant tops stay healthy and growing if left to long the potatoes can go hollow,I know ours were still flowering when we lifted them 3 weeks ago.I don`t know about other varieties tho`.

They started migrating from here weeks ago,there are still a handful left.I took photos of the sky just full of them on 28 aug.I thought it seemed early but I normally miss the mass collection and take off.It was spectacular and loud!

We are doing the same thing and have found that it is the initial juice that is that brown sludgy stuff so if you screw the press a little bit then wait until it stops,carry on like this so you can just save the clear for juice.There is probably a better way.If you do make cider you just put into de...

Johnboy-has spraying with acid been banned or something,the fields round here have been sprayed with something and the potato tops are fading fast,we assumed it was acid as usual,certainly warning sign are on some footpaths.
