Re: JAMES LONG KEEPING ONION SEED
Unfortunately not a single seed germinated when I sowed them this last spring. Keep trying ehh? We don't want them dissapearing off the face of the earth. Anybody had any luck finding or growing any?

Thank you so much Sludge, I'll guard them with my life. Hopefully we can build them up for future years to come.

Re: JAMES LONG KEEPING ONION SEED
That is so kind of you mate. It's really appreciated. It's been a really bad year for us all here in Derbyshire, I'm just so glad it's come to an end. I look forward with eager anticipation.

Re: JAMES LONG KEEPING ONION SEED
Hi Colin, can I ask if you've had success this year with saving your own seeds of James Long Keeping Onion?

Re: JAMES LONG KEEPING ONION SEED
Colin, it's ok. Can you remember me for next year please? With regards to the winnowing of the seeds I'm sure that the seed company known as "The Real Seed Co" would be interested on obtaining some ( next year). They have excellent facilities and/or advice on seed collections. They could h...

Re: JAMES LONG KEEPING ONION SEED
Unfortunately none of th JLK seeds have germinated. I've had them on blotting paper for about a month now, so the seeds were too old. Tongue in cheek, could I be cheeky and ask Sludge if he would have any spare to sell me next year please? Or if anyone else might have some available? Here's hoping.

Re: everlasting onions!
Thomas Etty do them. Go past Tomatoes and in R/H List under "Onions" is Perennial Welsch. Thats how it's spelt. This is for seeds. They also do plants under Onion Perutile in the additional varieties but I thought a bit expensive at minimum 10 stalks for £8.75

Re: Blackberry
Hi Tracie, I have just bought "Chester", which is meant to be big and nice tasting." Ouchita" is a beautiful variety with me. "Triple Crown", "Adrienna", "Loch Tay","Loch Ness", and "Loch Maree" are all nice thornless varieties. G...

Re: JAMES LONG KEEPING ONION SEED
Hi Richard, this appears to be the trouble. Nobody has got any for sale. I've just sown some on a damp tray and tissue paper, but on the packet it says, "Sow by 2019". So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If this small sample germinate, I can sow the rest and hopefully build up a stock to pr...

Brussel Sprouts.
Having returned back to my hometown in the mid 1980's, unemployed and dejected I decided to have a walk round our local allotments. I soon struck up a conversation with some of the old miners who had tended their allotments for many years. One of them offered me some Brussel Sprouts and on saying, &...

Re: JAMES LONG KEEPING ONION SEED
Thank you for that Primrose. I was thinking along those lines. I did the same one year with parsnips. I'm just hoping someone, somewhere will have a packet of James Longkeeping somewhere and then I can keep my own stock. Thanks for your imput x.

Re: JAMES LONG KEEPING ONION SEED
I've been following these Posts with interest. I've got a packet of T&M's James Longkeeping which I think are about three years past their sell by date, Would anyone know if they might succesfully germinate please? I suppose I'll find the answer myself when I sow them in a few weeks time.
