Re: Giant Pumpkin nesting in my Acer

I agree but for the life of me, I can't think how! I will go out again today to have another look at it. Wish me luck!

Giant Pumpkin nesting in my Acer

Hi everyone

Not entirely sure what to do about this but just thought I would share a funny problem I have come across. To my surprise, my Giant Pumpkin is happy growing in my Acer. (see photo) Luckily Pumpkin no 2 is being normal and on the ground.

Nature is funny, isn't it?

Re: Where has everyone gone???

Shallot man and Robo sorry to hear of your loss. My family are thinking of you both X Just heard I am losing my best friend but that has been expected for a long time so have retreated to my plants which is helping me cope with it all. Thank goodness for our gardens and plots!

Re: Misc. Bulbs Unearthed

Thanks for the advice everyone. @Geoff it could be that it was so weed-ridden we could not tell what was there so I think I shall hope and wait and see :-) According to the other half it was initially choked with weeds but he is partially sighted so who knows. It will be fun finding out.

Misc. Bulbs Unearthed

Hi all I have just been digging loads of earth away from our front garden wall to take the pressure of a MASSIVE crack we have in it so have not been able to use it as a border for years. However, in the process, I have dug uploads of bulbs of different sizes all a mystery though possibly some might...

Re: Large worms in my waterbutts

We found a similar thing when emptying and moving our water butt a couple of weeks ago and wondered what they were doing in there. So many thanks for the very interesting thread and explanation.

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

My Rhubarb is going great just perfect for when we make the Rhubarb wine again after our first try this year. We now have four planters of Rhubarb rather than two Trying to decide what to buy for the garden to celebrate my 50th Birthday in May thinking of a raised planter or something not sure but a...

Lockdown one Rescues success

Hi everyone

Such a beautiful sunny day here in Oxford. I am delighted to report that the plants I rescued half-dead from a shop have survived and are greening up lovely. My Honey Berry and Gooseberry look very happy.

What lockdown successes have you all had?

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

Morning all just got out into the garden after all the rain and it really is joyous to see things coming up through the earth. Bit worried that my gooseberry and honeyberry may not have survived but who knows. planning on trying a cabbage in our reclaimed border this year. Arming myself for the batt...
