Re: Has anyone got a deep-filled pie maker?

You know the type of thing - like a toastie-making or panini machine but it makes deep-filled little pies. I fancy getting one but most models I've looked at have a number of very poor reviews. Sometimes people give poor reviews because the thing didn't work well for them. Perhaps they're not very ...

Re: general feed

Hi everyone, I set up hydroponics in the greenhouse last year with some great results. I use a seaweed feed called formulex, very similar to tomorite! question is can I use it as a general feed instead of buying tomorite or similar for all other veg? Reason I ask I buy formulex in bulk and it works...

It is also very important to find and emphasize some features that may not be known, but, when applied, be useful.

Re: Where has everyone gone???

Housekeeping can really be a great anti-stress. The main thing is to be able to find a solution to a problem, to appreciate what surrounds you. Then it is much easier to endure various adversities.

Re: Ride On Mower

Maybe you should pay attention to the lawn mowers in this review? I'm not sure if lawn mowers are now available with a removable grass container. My lawnmower does not pick the grass, I then pick the mow by hand. Of course, it is not so convenient, but the lawn mower cost me less.

Re: Anyone heard it yet?

We have been hearing cuckoos regularly for a few weeks now and there are plenty of warblers about for them to lay in their nests. I have not seen a hedgehog this year either, last year I found one dead, tangled in electric sheep netting that must have happened over night. This year I'm running thre...

Re: Late Spring Bits and Bobs.

Probably 150 / 200 mm of rain here in Somerset in the past few days. As for weeds, I get a lot of ground-elder, and it is not due to home made compost, just really hard to get all the white bits of root out of clay soil. If we don't add manure and other composts on our shale / clay substrate, we ge...

Re: Late Spring Bits and Bobs.

Don't mention that stuff, Geoff...at the Big House they had a trailer load of the composted garden waste about 5 years ago, and Enchanter's Nightshade started appearing in all of the borders and being pretty heavy soil, it has been a nightmare to get rid of. We had some loads of the same stuff deli...

Re: This year's new trial!

Kay, there is a sweet potato thread on Ask the Team - there is a pro grower on there who is more than happy to share his hints & tips. I'm doing the avocado toothpick thing with mine, good root growth but no slips yet - but had one early fail with one of my own that had slips but it just rotted...

Re: This year's new trial!

I want to try planting cumin and sweet potatoes this year. Last year I already grew sweet potatoes, but there were only a couple of bushes, and this year I want to adapt one bed for it.

Re: Lockdown one Rescues success

I was very bored in quarantine and I became interested in smoking meat and other products. At first, I read a lot, studied the theoretical part, and then I bought myself a Masterbuilt smoker. I have the same as here , I was looking for a specially description of the model, maybe it will come in hand...

Re: Lawn care

Moss grows where it is humid. Sand, on the contrary, retains moisture and it is not a fact that it will help in the fight against moss. I would consider draining the area where the moss grows, otherwise it will reappear over and over again.

Re: Vitamin D

I'm a very reluctant taker of any pills even anti-inflammatories. We seem to have been brain washed into believing we should always feel completely well and if we don't there is a pill for it. Over prescribing and particularly over self-prescribing is a real problem. There is often talk about gut h...

How cute! As far as I know, birds have a poor sense of smell. Rather, the bird instinctively collects those herbs that may be beneficial to her. I am not an ornithologist, I cannot say exactly what and why.
