I grew the invisible variety too ☹️ I've given up on carrots now and planted Chioggia beetroot instead. Needless to say they all grew, gazillions of them, so I'm having to give some the little plantlets away.

I've written to David Austin roses, asking if maybe they could name one of their new roses, in the spring, after Nigel. They've replied back to say they are considering doing so. Hope they do. I'm sure it would sell well. If they don't then I have a cutting of a golden rose in my garden. I can't rem...

You can use the offcuts - they root very easily. I created a hedge once, just by sticking in the offcuts from a single plant.

I'm near Bournemouth Airport and yesterday there were several large aircraft going over, many times. Turns out it was a training session for C- 17 Globemasters and Navy Hawk- for Brize Norton. Beautiful pic, thank you. I planted a packet of mixed hawthorn seeds in the autumn and notice today that at least 6 have sprouted. That's my contribution to mother nature s few years down the line, hopefully.
