Advice is for the month printed on the magazine and folk in Cornwall have the opposite issue to you with temperatures. Any advice would be general as your microclimate would apply. Local hills, frost pockets, aspect, slope exposure to wind - as you mention. Best suggestion I can give is start record...

I had the AstraZenaca first jab and a slightly uncomfortable day after the jab day.
Having had covid itself at Christmas the jab side effects were like a mild breeze next to the storm of 87.

I do a buzz cut with my electric clippers, as short as they'll go - no comb attached.
Run my hand over my head for any missed bits.
More often then not I then shave it, very easy for a wet hand to find unshaved bits!
