Mantis Tillers
Hi Anthony, We have been using a Mantis for 2 years now. Our garden is about 50 ft. x 50 ft. and I don't think I would want to do the entire plot with the Mantis. For that we use the BCS & a Craftsman GT5000. The Mantis has been very good for weeding and for forming hills for the corn & spud...

Slugs
Before we went to chickens for slug control, we used to put a pie tin of beer in the garden. Both snails and slugs like people, seem to like the aroma. They climb in and drown. If you can stand the sound of screaming slugs you might want to give it a try.

Bears & vegies
Actually, if I am supplying the vegies, it would be the bears job to supply the steaks. Bear meat is NOT good. Squirrel Pie!
The big gray tree squirrels taste great in a meat pie. Especially along with homegrown potatoes & carrots. We have tons of them plus cotton tail rabbits. The deer are the worst however.

Moles & Jeyes Fluid?
Some time ago, I read on the web, that Jeyes Fluid can be used to entice Moles to leave a garden area. I don't want to kill the moles as they eat grubs and scorpions (we have many scorpions) but they really tear up my wifes rose garden. Has anyone used this product on moles? Is it available in the U...

New gardens or old
Hi Jane, Each year as we did the first year, we mow our garden spot with a regular weed mower (big wheels in the back). The area is then watered and once every week or two, we rototill the space and put the chickens out in it. They mine the space for bugs, grubs, and weeds & their seeds. After a...
