Yeah! That's the sort of thing I would do. No idea if you might be successful with the guy.

Re: Products I've liked
I've never tried to make my own cocoa drink. But I have made Hot Chocolate from scratch. I can tell you it's a hundred times better than the usual stuff you buy in a canister. :D You're worth a bit of luxury, better to spend the money on better products, though. And they might even cost less that th...

Re: Products I've liked
Thanks, Westi. Desserts are not really my forte but I'll have a go and say what I would do in the same situation. I hope you have some freezer space available. Bramley apples are a very British thing, often called 'cooking apples'. (I've never seen Bramleys outside the UK.) A lot of chefs, myself in...

Re: Pets
I'm really sorry to read this. Very best wishes to you and your doggie. I don't know much about the subject but it seems to me that, given the problems, you did darned well to keep his life going for all these years. Hats off to you.

Thanks, Westi. I'm not really back on form. Just able to get to the laptop in my home office instead of being glued to the bed. Oh well, it's a step in the right direction

Re: Products I've liked
Sorry for disappearing again. Been ill - the usual, anxiety, stress, vomiting. Of course when you're chucking up every 15-20 mins and can't even keep water down, there's no chance of eating or sleeping, which makes matters worse. Anyway, husband noticed Coquilles St Jaques in M&S. You just have ...

Grow Cook Nourish by Darina Allen
This is not a cheap book. The RRP is £40 although I got it new from Amazon for £26. It's a large tome. Perhaps I'll need a wheelbarrow to move it around. I only got it about half an hour ago so I've only had time so far to just flick through and dip into it. I think there's every chance that this co...

Re: 2024 season begins
I’m in awe of your pea support tying Geoff. Mine always look like some drunk has had a go at a bamboo sculpture lol Sorry, I should have asked permission to go in your garden. Now I'm wanting to grow some edible flowers not sure if I'm too late in the season or if I need to excavate my little hydro...

Re: Summer Bits and Bobs.
I tried making nettle tea as a plant food, never smelt anything quite as bad before, but nettles do have lots of uses, a great substitute for Spinach, but as I don't like that, I don't eat it. You can make strong string from it like Ray Mears, but it's a right faff, so not done that either. [/quote...

I very rarely like shop-bought or so-called restaurant-bought pizzas. But sometimes you get desperate.
This is the best I've had!

Yeah, I would buy that again.

Re: Summer Bits and Bobs.
Blimey. I think I shall flee elsewhere if this is what Scotswomen are like. Male and female nettles? I did get "The Facts of Life" at school, but never got anything like that. If you have a dog or a cat, or even a coo, ye can tell male or female. What the heck am I supposed to do with a ne...

Re: Summer Bits and Bobs.
"God morning", OH? That reminds me that I used to have a T-shirt with the slogan, "I am good in bed...I can sleep all day". Just a silly bit of fun that I got from a market in KL, Malaysia. Unfortunately a moth, or maybe some other beastie ate the second "o" of the shir...

Re: Summer Bits and Bobs.
We're currently renting a house. Gives us time/space to relax and get to know the area before buying somewhere. There's a nice enough back garden but we have everything in containers on the patio. That way we can take it with us when we move on. Mixed results but nearly all good! We bought some plan...

The telephone box sounds like a great idea!
Not so keen on those tw@ts who destroy stuff that others would be grateful for. Posh boys? Ex-Etonians perhaps? How the other half lives, eh?

Re: What do you do with old 'rubbish'?
I didn't even know there was such a thing as a local metal recycling business. Well, I suppose I might have thought about it in terms of BIG business. Are we talking about the likes of Steptoe and Son? It makes me wonder how many people just put stuff in the bin because they don't know what else to ...
