Re: Bees need our help

I’ve got a little gardening whatsapp group with some old school friends and I’m posting them all a wildflower envelope to get them to do their bit. I figure that’s five more people helping out

Re: Plastics in the food chain

My wife has been insisting we use bags in the food waste bin as liners and I’ve just emptied the composter and even ten months on they’re pretty intact despite being advertised as “biodegradable”. Maybe they just take longer. Maybe Mrs W is going to have to accept we don’t need a bin liner. What is ...

Re: Hot bed???

Ah I knew there would be posts on this in here! With the family down with flu I’ve been muck picking the fields this week which has coincided with acquiring some scaffold boards to make three new beds. It’s like the stars aligned! How much success have people had since this thread ? Any more tips? C...

Re: Blueberry advice please

I got frustrated with blueberries and invested in wineberries which have been more successful. Well, my three year old says so - she’s beaten me to them all so far

Re: Sizzling Summer Bits and Bobs.

Primrose, delivery drivers seem to be a mixed bag, any we get are pretty good about coming and knocking but at my son's home they have one who puts parcels in the green wheelie bin! Just got to hope it's not bin day! I don't have a rain gauge but have got an electronic one that I have in the kitche...

Used water, like your bath water.

Re: Sizzling Summer Bits and Bobs.

Winds seems to have whipped most of the water away here but my butts are considerably healthier. Think I might have to invest in a water butt pump. Beginning to regret having such a long garden.

Re: Sizzling Summer Bits and Bobs.

Still no rain in north Shropshire. Think it will be floods.com due to how hard the ground it

Re: Sizzling Summer Bits and Bobs.

Morning all. Scorching here in north Shropshire though there are dregs in my water buts from the minimal amount we had last week. I partly blame myself for this hard going weather as up until this year I only messed about with a few Tom plants in pots, last year I did carrots and parsnips but this y...
