Re: Snakes Head Fritilleries
Thanks for all theories, I'm thinking it may just be an unfortunate combination of weather conditions, first time in about 20 years so not a big problem, it's not as though I'm short of Fritilleries after all this time but I was very curious.

I have a small paddock and for the last 20 years have been naturalising Snakes Heads, they usually set seed in a big pod which are full of seeds , this year for the first time I can't find a single set pod , anyone got an idea ? Re: Cowslip
I've had a lot of success over 16yrs with Cowslips naturlising in my meadow area, I think it important for the seeds to experience a cold spell to spark germination in the spring

Re: Carrot root fly

Re: homemade liquid feeds
Under this thread heading the only liquid feed discussed has been comfrey, what about pee ? I use this on suitable crops with excellent results, I also go out & pee on my comfrey patch undiluted & it loves it. I use the fresh cut comfrey in my potato, pea & bean trenches not bothering to...

Re: Spuds
Had a feed off my Maris Bard last week, they seem a lot earlier than Pilots & most other varities I've tried. There were quite a few tiny pots still left on the root so I re-planted them gave a good watering & they are still growing on with no sign of a wilt, so hopeful for another feed
