Re: Amberley Cross - Tomato
It used to be called 'Ware Cross' - my mum said that her grandfather used to grow them and they awere the best tasting tomato that she had tasted and asked if i could try and find some seeds or plants for her. I found out that they are no longer known as Ware Cross but are now Amberley Cross.

When using a driveway, reverse in and drive out if you can. I notice in your post that you mention that...

Re: Runner Bean Seeds
Thanks everyone for your replies. The seeds had dried well on the plants that were left at the end of the crop. I planted them a few weeks ago and the germination has been very good. Its just that the leaves are unusually dark green compared to other runner bean plants that i have seen for sale whic...

Last year i grew some Polestar runner beans which cropped very well. I kept some beans for seeds - is it ok to plant these or should new beans be purchased from a seed supplier?

Hi Colin
Thanks very much for your reply, i'm glad that i have still time to get them in. I'll do as yuo say and plant them in some compost in the greenhouse to give them a good start. I'll let you know how i get on.

Johnboy I have to say i agree totally with your comments. I work full time and am currently putting an extension on my house so my 'spare' time is very limited. Therefore for the first time i have found it necessary to order some brassicas and other plants from a mail order company simply due to the...
