apple and pears
I pruned my well established apple and pear trees back very harsh last winter. I have good leaf growth but no fruit which i expected from the books i have read. Do i need to do summer pruning as i don't have fruit

Brussels sprouts
This is my first growing year and i am growing sprouts but the plants seemed to be leaning over. Is it OK to stake them so they are upright.

i am new to this growing your own so need some help please with rhubarb. Planted a rhubarb in September and it has grown nicely but it has like white flowers, leaves with green stems that growing near the bottom of main stalk. Stems are not red. Can anyone tell me what to do please.

I am new to growing your own so i need some advice. Does it matter what compost you start your seedlings in. In my opinion it seems to be taking a long time for them to sprout. As i am new to this gardening lark this might be a stupid question. Can you use clear plastic polythene bags over your newly planted seeds in trays and pots and use these like cloches or do they just keep the soil damp and cold

clearing a new plot
I am new to gardening only started last year. I have been given a piece of land 10m by 5 m that i need to clear so i can start growing. The problem i have is that lesser celandine is growing all over it. What is the best way to clear that area.
