We got back from Wales dinner time yesterday went to our allotment A.G.M find myself the chairman this morning I went to the plot been there five minutes when my phone rang it was the caravan ranger our awning is on the point of becoming a kite so tomorrow first thing it's off to Wales then home again

I've grown them for the last four years , mainly as my eldest daughter likes them this year was not good for elephant garlic as I only got two bulbs out of an expected twelve all my other garlic has done ok

I've been digging my charlottes this week ,the problem I found is the ground is that hard I could do with a couple of sticks of dynamite ,it has rained on and off for two days but the soil is rock hard I'm struggling to get the fork into it

We were out in Spain sipping a few brandies with one of our neighbors we had only arrived that morning ,we were sitting in our fly free area this is a patio type area with timber frames all around covered in a fine mesh the roof is anti sun pollycarb sheets the idea is to keep the black fly from bit...

I've never had a split tomato stem , I tie the plants just under each truss which helps with the weight of the tomatoes the other thing I would ask is are you over feeding

Most of the plotters on our allotment are complaining about their potatoes, not getting very many per plant mine are not to bad as I've said before I've never had good returns but this year seems better than usual
