i have grown some in my raised beds but still only
managed to grow to tennis ball size and they have
been well fed and watered :(

thanks for the advice mikA, come to think of it the tubers was soft
but atleast 5 seem to have survived but seeing this is my 1st year
of trying to grow veg i am on a big learning curve so i will just plod
on and listen to all the advice people on this great forum give me.

re my last post have pulled up afew of the tubers and the
stems are rotten, so i have decided just to pull all the tubers
up, my query is now what else do i need to do to the compost
they where planted in :?: cheers in advance for all replies.

they where doing fine i had already covered them once and they where about 4-6 inches of the plants showing then they just started to wither and wilt and they had been looked after ok not too dry or over watered, anyway i have also contacted the companies i bought them from 1 was even from d,t brown...

potatoes are dead

Hi all planted my christmas cropping potatoes about 3weeks ago and out of 20 tubers i planted in my planter boxes about 15 have just died of, have had plenty of rain recently could that be the cause i am open to suggestions and comments am really baffled because some are doing really well the ones ...

Well i thought the opening ceremony was very good one or two
funny moments i.e the queen and rowan atkinson not the bishop :)
but it went down hill at the end with the ex beatle paul making a
real mess about time he gave it up he made me cringe his so
called singing was dire.

cripes you never eat all that in one go do you? i only have afew spoons of rice crispies and thats only because i have to eat something before i take all my prescribed drugs before i go to work oh and 3 mugs of coffee.

the ones ive got if they grow will be ready by the end of october, i got mine from the magazines shop as they where pay [postage only plus got a free grow bag and a free pair of gloves to boot all for £4.75 :D . so we shall see how they get on.

xmas potatoes

have just planted 15 tubers for my christmas potatoes :)
hope they turn out ok, my 2nd earlies where well dissapointing
but seeing it was my first time musnt grumble still got 10 tubers
to uplift yet but am waiting till the weekend hope this lot
are better :)

We had to have our belgian sheperd ellie b put to sleep last night, she had a fit and never came out of it so i sent for the vet and to cut a long sad story short it was the kindest thing for her but she has had a great life with us we rescued her from a breeder, but she was also 12yrs old so she h...

for a 1st timer at gyo we had our 1st strawberries yippee just waiting to harvest the potatoes and everything else ive had a go at growing and last but not least a very big thanks to everyone on here for all the help and advice you have given me i would most likely had given up so THANKS ONE AND AL...
