Re: Baby Pumpkins Getting Dropped

Where are you to have pumpkins at this time, mine are just emerged seedlings under cover? It might be you are just too early.

Re: Anyone heard it yet?

Cuckoo today, probably passing comment as I was out in rain planting our 'cut & dried' flower bed.

Re: Late Spring Bits and Bobs.

I don't trust any of this green waste that the sell to use directly or use as the basis for these supposedly environmentally friendly potting composts, it obviously doesn't get hot enough to kill everything. That that shall not be named goes either to my bonfire or landfill bin, I don't use a green ...

Re: Late Spring Bits and Bobs.

Goosegrass removal postponed due to thunder, lightning and hail. The other thing that is spreading through my borders is enchanter's nightshade, much harder to deal with.

Re: Late Spring Bits and Bobs.

I also have lots of goose grass, as we call it, coming up everywhere even after having weeded the borders a couple of times. I think I've asked before but not sure if I got an answer. It seems so easy to pull up, are we really removing it? Perhaps that's why it comes back when we think we have kept ...

Re: Late Spring Bits and Bobs.

The sky seems to have sprung a leak. Perhaps I should have stuck at it last evening and dug the last few trenches of the bed where I have been pulling out the late brassicas to make way for dahlias, chrysants and gourds.

Re: Late Spring Bits and Bobs.

Just past 42mm and still going, cool and windy with it. Act of defiance today, planted 10 tomatoes in the polytunnel, needed ear defenders at times.

Re: Rain gauge

I think so - found this quote Can you use super glue outside? Super glue creates an incredibly strong adhesive bond. Because of cyanoacrylate glue's unique properties, the bond is nearly unbreakable. It's so powerful, it can hold outdoor materials together, such as broken or cracked eavestroughs, th...

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

I'm getting a very negative feeling about this Spring, -2.3°C again last night with all the plum family in full blossom. Forecast had it positive last night but luckily I covered the potatoes anyway, haven't been to check yet if it got into the tunnel and the cold greenhouse.

Re: Anyone heard it yet?

I hear skylarks regularly where I walk my dog past rough grazing. I put it down to getting hearing aids rather than the skylarks returning.
