i dont eat white plastic bag bread, there is too much yeast in it and it makes me bloated and makes my skin go bad. i try not to eat bread at all, but when i do it is rye bread, or wholemeal soda bread. I also have a dryer to use this year, might start with my herbs. The rattatuille I bottled last year was delicious, have used it hot and it makes a nice pasta salad cold. leek and potato soup has to be a favourite, leeks are just so versatile, they can be rustic or be made into a nice gratin for more posh ocassions. love them.

That sounds a bit complicated! i think the only reason i find rice a pain, is the long cooking time. I wouldve thought parboiled would help speed things up but evidently not eh?

mm i have never done this but what about cuting them in long slices and grilling them and preserving them in oil like antipasti? what a nice gift that would be! :)

I am trying to give up pasta so I am a bit obsessed with replacements, rice, quinoa etc!
