Re: Magazine freebies, but not for subscribers...?
I'm saying that there were always freebies in when I bought it from th shop. When I subscribed they suddenly stopped. Anyway. I've put this here for the admin to see, as at one point they were asking us about freebies. Seems they're no longer listening, if they ever were. I'm not going to argue abou...

Re: Magazine freebies, but not for subscribers...?
No, it's not. As I've said above, subscription fees are paid up front. The small cut in price is more than covered by not having to pay the supermarkets their cut. I took out a subscription based on the magazine at the time. Back then there were free seeds pretty much every month. Now I've subscribe...

Re: Magazine freebies, but not for subscribers...?
Just got my mag through the post and, again, bugger all for subscribers. The contents page boldy announces Subscriber's Corner on page 30. It's an advert for subscriptions, nothing more. So basically, aside from a small cut in price, which the cut the supermarket would normally takes makes it a bonu...

Re: Computer scam
I've had calls from these asian technicians a few times. They try to talk you into installing something usually or changing your ISP settings, presumably to some premium rate line. I always 'put them on hold' and see how long they hang on before they hang up or pretend to go through the motions and ...

Re: Magazine freebies, but not for subscribers...?
Sorry to bring this up again, but the last two issues seem to have had nothing in way of extras for subscribers. No seeds, not even a useful booklet. This month there is a discount on already overpriced arches from Harrod. Just where is the incentive to re-subscribe? I'm getting pretty inclined to c...

First signs of blight
It's here. Had to severely hack back the toms in the greenhouse and even a few outside.
Here's praying for some sunshine to ripen the rest before I have to resort to chutney again

Re: Personal peat vs peat-free experiment
Surely if the same seeds are used in each, watering is measured, both are sat on the same shelf, then they are getting like for like. Ph is down to the compost, and if the conditions, other than the compost, aren't right for a particular seed, then that should be the same for both lots too. The only...

Re: Magazine freebies, but not for subscribers...?
When can subscribers expect to get the magazine? I know we're supposed to get it before it hits the shops but the front page says the next issue is out on the 4th June, that's in four working days for the post office.

Re: Magazine freebies, but not for subscribers...?
One difficulty we encounter, is when negotiating with big retailers like T*sc*. Nowadays we need to be in such stores as many people no longer visit traditional outlets - such as Smiths or newsagents. (But please do support your local newsie!!). However, we are required to spend a certain amount in...
