Re: Holes in my boots!

JohnBoy I will definitely get some steel toe caps, especially if they're comfy! Well, ShallotMan, that's interesting! I did a little search on the web and found that tyres are still being used - that's one way of recycling them! Peter - great music that was, doesn't seem to be played on the radio an...

Re: Holes in my boots!

Very good point John - will take that advice especially as my sister put a garden fork through her foot when she was very young! Diane - thanks - I will do this and keep the boots for lighter work and dog walking. Shallot Man - I would look really daft walking around with tyres on the soles of my bo...

There are splits in the seams which have got bigger and let too much water or sludgy mud in now (or dust on dry da...

Re: Leaf Mould

Thank you all very much for such interesting and informative replies. I think I will use it as a base for seedlings in my sink. I don't have much success with carrots and was thinking of giving them a miss, but I as it seems work well with them I might grow a trial batch this year. Several years ago...

Leaf Mould

Hi Everyone/Anyone (?) I have two daleks nearly full of leaf mould but I'm not sure where is best to use it and I don't want to waste it as it took ages to collect it in the first place...and over two years in the making! Should I save it for certain vegetables (I know someone who is using his to fi...

Re: The Barren month. What did you manage to harvest in Marc

Thanks for the reassurance JohnBoy; didn't like to think that I had wasted a crop of parsnips that would have done me proud by the end of the year!

Re: The Barren month. What did you manage to harvest in Marc

Hello I had some parsnips left in the ground and pulled them out last week. They had grown new foliage and some seemed to be growing quite well. I planted them over a year ago.. Having doubts now; could I have left them in the ground for the second year? Would have added some green to the vegetable ...
