Re: Grafted tomatoes
Hi I have had a look around but can't find Maxifort in UK. Good alternatives would be Beaufort or Big Power. Big Power is available here, but I,m not sure if they only supply comercial: http://www.rijkzwaan.co.uk/wps/wcm/connect/RZ+UK/Rijk+Zwaan/Products_and_Services/Products/Crops/Rootstock?pcpage=...

Re: Grafted tomatoes
Hi
I used to be a commercial tomato grower and all my plants were grafted on to Maxifort root stock. Its an amazing variety which left to grow wild produces massive leaves and small toms.

Raised Beds
Hi
Has anyone one used pressure treated decking wood for raised beds? The treatment on the wood smells quite strong. Does this effect the soil in anyway?
Thanks

Hi
Coir is good for getting things started, but remember, it has no "nutritional value" so if you are continuing to use coir for transplanting you will need to suppliment with a feed.

Re: Recommendations for short season crops
Hi Maulk
I would go for courgettes and a cherry variety of tomatoes. They grow and ripen quickly. You will need to get some seeds going now indoors or buy some young plants once it gets a bit walmer.

Re: Thrips I think??
Hello Fair Weather
I think you are right. Slugs or snails sound like the culprits. It’s a little early to see caterpillar damage and I don't thing thrips would be that hungry!
