One the worst issues in life ..dog poo..living near the coast many dog owners just allow dogs to poo on the beache , assuming the tide washes the beastly stuff away.I challenged this once and received a real mouthfull of abuse..and sadly my grandson ended up with the mess on his shoes !!! Hi..if you live in the west country ..check out Trago Mills, they are the cheapest around for chicken manure pellets, use nothing else and always get good results.

Hi try a company called premier tunnels..they specialise in small tunnels etc for allotments and smallholdings , but also sell bigger tunnels.
Prices are reasonable, I was going to buy one but another plot holder sold me a 10 x 12 foot frame for a tenner..job done

Just to share ..on facebook there is a great group called Allotment life..plenty of tips and advice , plus some amazing photos of people plots etc...not everyones cup of tea but maybe worth a look.

I had no whitefly or tagetes in fact I have no greenhouse either !! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
Just putting up a tunnel on my plot and will be using companion planting as it clearly works and the extra benefits are worth the effort. :D

There has been much research done re companion plants...and there is evidence that blue flowers attract bees, therefore any flowers which attract beneficial insects has to be worthwhile, plus can help to keep pests at bay or under natural control Lavender and Rosemary are very underated and my plot ...

Blimey..far too complicated my freind..and have to disagree ..some crops can naturally follow each other to great benefit, eg my leeks always follow my late potatoes. Just to confirm I do move my beans around, in fact the tops of this years beans are already in next years trench with chicken maunure...

Far too complicated ..many crops follow each other naturally , we worry too much about rotation .My allotment is a place of stressless pleasure, you sow, grow it then eat it...and enjoy it If I followed this plan it would too much like a day job !!!
