Afternoon
Just an update on the toms. Definatly just too cold. I took them back into the warmth and they have perked up no end. They are ready now to be planted up into their final pots.
Thanks everyone for your help. Much appreciated

Morning all The compost is Jamie Oliver fruit and vegitable planter bought from homebase (got some vouchers for xmas). I usually use Levingtons grow bag and have never had any probs. They were sown on 17/2 and transplanted on 18/3. They now have 5 sets of true leaves. What you say about the cold may...

Afternoon
Would love to send you some from up here in the far north. Has been raining on and off now for weeks. The fields here are saturated. Have even got a few temp (hopefully) duck ponds.

Tom leaf probs
Afternoon all, I have pricked out my tom plants into new compost about 3 weeks ago. But the leaves have started to turn yellow apart from the veins. I am sure this is due to a lack of nutrients. Could you suggest what would be the best to feed them. Untill I can plant them up into my usual compost?

Re: Containers
Evening Peet I have grown onions in a trough and they were great. I planted about 7 stagered in a zig zag fashion. How I did it was visualise the size I hoped the onion would grow too and then gave it a little bit more. I filled it with I think a tomato bag. You have to keep them well watered and I ...

Evening Ruby kitchen This may not help but here goes. I live in the verry far north of Scotland (can actually see Orkney from window!). So everything here usually is about one month out from the middle of England. Only advantage no frosts from now on. But have planted toms at the begining of March. ...

Re: moss like plant growing on compost in plug trayes
Afternoon nemo I have had this problem in the past. But it never seemed to affect the seedlings and it went away once I potted them on. Since then I have used Vermiculite on the top. What I do is put compost in the trays water it well (to let it settle) put more compost in the ones that have sunk to...
