I'm sure I read somewhere that you leave both the male and female parts on on the outdoor varities.
Good luck!

Re: Cucumber Advice needed and Marketmore mystery!
The marketmore cucumbers I have grown in the past have been prickly but I do think there may be a smooth variety as well-may be the indoor variety.

New garden, new me!
Hi everyone, You probably remember me talking about my tip of a garden. Well, it all change now-new house and a new garden. It's very pretty with decking and a pond. What birds visit your garden?
Haven't had many this winter but I tend to get blackbirds, a family of housesparrows and a million starlings-it's like a scene from a certain Alfred Hitchcok film!

It's finally happened...!
Hi everyone-I have harvested the first of my fruit and veg (marketmore cucumbers)! Even my boyfriend liked them and he doesn't eat cucumbers! I love having fresh produce in the garden-it's so convinient and tastes way better that supermarket stuff! Just thought I'd share my happy time!

Hi,
Tigger gave me these spikey little fellows-just wondering how big they have to be before I harvest them? I've got one that's about 15cm and the spikes easily rub off now.
