Re: Stinky Fish
Thanks John. I have the offending bag open at teh moment - in a busy office. My colleague keeps complaining about it so maybe I should do the open air thing at home not here. or perhaps a bag of that silicon gel they put in new shoes...

Re: Prince of hypocrisy
I also meant to add - if the Windsor Family can have their inherited wealth removed by Act of Parliament, or as a result of the "popular will", why stop there? Why shouldn't anyone with wealth above a certain level forfeit it to the State? Where and how do you draw the line? I'm not trying...

Stinky Fish
I inadvertently left some fish in a very fancy leather briefcase - it stinks! I have tried spraying it with deoderant but that just masks the stink for a few minutes. Any ideas of what I can do to extract the smell for good?
Thanks

Re: Prince of hypocrisy
I agree with you Primrose. PoW was born into the family he was born into. Just as you and I were. I'm not apologising for that and nor shoudl he. I'm just glad he is doing something with his position not just enjoying it - like so many other (far richer) people that have inherited wealth.

Re: Help!!!!! please
If you think they may be a slightly more adventurous lot, how about cooking a Thai chicken curry? It's so easy you wouldn't believe! You can buy pots of thai curry paste - get it from a chinese grocer rather than a supermarket who will really rip you off. You just boil up some coconut milk, add the ...

Yep - the conditions don't sound good at all. She'd be better of growing herbs or even tomatoes in something as shallow as that. Thanks NB

Re: Qualifications?
I'm looking for a lower level qualification than a degree - at least initially. Would be great to have some theoretical and well as practical experience.
Thanks JB - I will contact you privately.

Growing in these:

filled with regular compost - but they weren't fed.
The plants are only about 3 feet high, so sounds like they have been under nurished.

Growing corn on the cob
Hello. A colleague of mine has been looking forward all summer to a crop of big, fat, juicy corn on the cob - the current status is a brace of underachieveing, weedy looking, hairy stumps. She lives in Brentwood in Essex - the corn has been in full sun all summer long. Why doesn't she have the corn ...

Re: Has this been a "light" year for Tomato blight?
I have about 10 cherry and 7 "normal" tomatoes (can't remember the particular type) and there have been no problems at all. Haven't grown them for a couple of years and I think the especially cold winter we had may have helped kill off some of the pathogens???

Thanks Alan; that website looks very interesting and I'll have a proper look when I'm not at work . Geoff, thanks for your post - I thought my location was on my profile - it is now. I have put myself on the waiting list for an allotment but I'm in central London so there are very few around - I exp...
