HEDGEHOGS
My allotment neighbour has a plastic council hut which he uses as a shed and Mrs Hedgehog has roosted in there looking quite fat...would she be pregnant? if so when are her babies due and when can he expect them to leave home? We have figured out that moving her is not a good idea, as she has bedded...

I tend to agree Tigger, but how about collecting your own water and saving some money? I know its not a lot but if we all had a few water butts for out gardens and allotments, collected from gutters etc, we would surely help the problem, whilst the government ofwat and every other man and his dog fi...

SAVE IT!!
Hey folks I know that the water companies have a lot to answer for taking profit and not investing in water collection, but I am a little surprised that everyone is looking at ways of cheating the ban, how about water butts? guttering on sheds and greenhouses? Surely we are all responsible for savin...

PLEASURE OR PAIN?
I echo everyone's sentiment, but I don't think that it comes to everyone though, my Father in Law got very enthusiastic last year and helped me to dig over the new plot, he took no pleasure in winter digging and weeding and then no pleasure in pulling up the winter brassicas, he has retreated to his...

lazy spuds
I think you would be better off just planting in holes using a bulb planter about four inches deep, when you earth up you will naturally weed out any weeds anyway, then as the plants get bigger less weed will grow under them anyway, choose a vigorous type with bushy growth, you will have cleaner plo...
