Re: wobbly brassicas

Hi Retropants, I'm glad you have posted this problem cos a similar thing has happened to me. My brassicas were all doing fine in module trays, I planted them out about 2 weeks ago, that's Kale, cauli and tatsoi and all of them have started to turn beige, and don't look good at all. I have collars ro...

Hi Tracie,
I have no idea how you grow it, but to cook it steam it lightly for a few minutes like asparagus

Let us know how you get on growing it cos I love and and the thought of growing had never entered my head!!!!!!!!!!! :?

Re: Tomatoes-Temperature

When I sow tomato seeds I sow them in a seed tray and prick out when they have 2 true leaves. But I plant them quite deep into the pot, so the leaves are just above the surface of the compost, at the pricking out stage and do the same when I transplant them.

You can buy them in tubs from ebay. Search for compost worms or tiger worms or brandling worms.

Re: Polytunnel v Keder greenhouse

Yes Geoff unfortunatley. They want a large area undercover and they want to involve local school children in the growing so it needs to be fairly big to get all the "little darlings" in incase it rains, so as big as we can fit and fairly cheaply!!

Polytunnel v Keder greenhouse

Hi all, I am currently working with a community group who want their own community plot and as part of it would like a polytunnel or similar. The site has been vanadalised now and again, 4 times in the last ten years, with thefts and damaged to tunnels and greenhouses. Their plot on the site is righ...

Re: The legacy of the frost & snow

I lost all my autumn sown broad beans despite being in the polytunnel. My onions and garlic seem to be coping ok but I have lost some kale and sprouting broc to the frosts.

Could it be more to do with the length of time things have been frozen for?

Re: Please can we have some more 'funnies'?

A man was driving down the road and ran out of gas. Just at that moment, a bee flew in his window. The bee said, 'What seems to be the problem?' 'I'm out of gas,' the man replied. The bee told the man to wait right there and flew away. Minutes later, the man watched as an entire swarm of bees flew t...
