we have been fortunate to not lose any to mice ,we have always covered our raised bed with enviro mesh untill they are tall enough to put the supports between and lift of the covering .But there is always a first time and will probably talk them up having just sown mine this past week lol .

I grew mine (Cobra) up canes last year and had a very large crop 1 cane per plant around 12 inches apart if that helps

I have got to agree with Old Herbaceous. These winters are nothing like I remember and it feels like it is now dark for six months of the year ,not a thing I could get used to .
