Re: Sterliza Regina.

Thanks for that Marken. I have been and had a look at where it will go just before it got dark. Near to my draseana (spelling?).

I think it will be there quite soon.

Re: Help with Identifying Cultivator ?

Sorry gents, the photos went AWOL because I had to change them over in my photobucket albums so that I could make the album with me wood bits in into a public jobbie and make the others private.. The engine is a Jap 80cc. Thank you Reiver for the contact. I will see if I can contact Patrick after th...

Re: Help with Identifying Cultivator ?

Cracked it, just loosen one of me nuts (ouch!) and turn the head 90 degrees and the weeder fits and works a treat. Nearly had a happening this afternoon when I realised that the gearbox actually had (!) some oil in it. It started to complain VERY loudly after I was turning over yet another patch of ...

Re: Sterliza Regina.

Thank you for the info OH. It will be staying in its pot, well a bit biigger than the one from the jardinerie. I am not sure what is in Mr Innes no3 and it isn't available here so we will probably mix up some 'onk-donk-plonk' ('oss muck) with some loamy based soil ad use that. I think that we have m...

Re: Sterliza Regina.

I think that the French have either made a spelling mastike or they have a modified name for it which wouldn't surprise me :D

I'll have a look, ta.

Sterliza Regina.

Yesterday I bought a Bird of Paradise plant, name above. Can anyone give me any info on this plant as to which kind of soil it likes and bascially how it likes to live. Bear in mind that we are in the South of France and although it still gets cold here at night at the moment it does not go below ze...

Re: Help with Identifying Cultivator ?

Hi Reiver, I have had a look at the 'U' shaped tool and it appears to fit on the underside of the head as a single unit and spins horizontally to do the weeding. I will give it a try and report back as to how it works, with some photos if I can? At the moment, the underside is on the top , but the h...

Re: Stihl 180C chain saw?

I think, hope, that I have found the leak? I have ahad a very close look at the oil filler cap and there was some tiny bits of debris on the inner rim. I had to fiddle the gismo that hold the cap secured to the saw out of the filler hole to see it properly. It is now cleaned properly and I will have...

Stihl 180C chain saw?

I have a Stihl 180C chain saw, wonderful bit of kit, but just recently it has started to leak chain oil when it is not in use. After use it is cleaned up and I have been putting it flat on the top of an old kitchen cupboard in my workshop. It had been there for a couple of months and there was a hel...

Re: Help with Identifying Cultivator ?

There is only one of them, but the other one could easily have been lost. The mounting hole is exactly the same as the others so it is obviously meant to turn something! I chucked the 'oss muck on the rotored area and put the machine on it and all I really had to do was to guide it. No effort at all...

Re: Help with Identifying Cultivator ?

Spot on OB. I hope that the problem is now cured? I have 2 sets of blades. One is like a 4 bladed scimitar with straight forward pointing blades and the other, the blades are bent over at the ends and are the same sort of thing I've seen on the French things. There is also a strange square 'U' shape...

Re: Branding irons for wooden tools

I realise that I have come into this a little late, but only just got here! Have you thought of getting a cheepish pyrograph pen set, taking the tool you want to mark back home and doing the job there? I think that something like m would do the job for you and you could really go to town if you had ...

Re: Help with Identifying Cultivator ?

Crikey OH, that was a quick answer! Thank you for your welcome and thank you also for your advise. I may well be able to do that tomorrow morning.

I beats digging for a living don't it?

What a fantastic bit of kit that machine is!

Re: Help with Identifying Cultivator ?

I realise that I am starting with an old posting, but please forgive this. I was looking for some information on my old inherited J E Shay Roto Gardener 80 and what should pop up but this thread! I too inherited mine from a very dear friend and neighbour. I have no idea how long he had it but he was...
