I've sown mine in Growbags!

Not tried it before, but I heard from an old allotment keeper that this gives bumper crops.

anyone else tried this?

Hi Lizzie, I had a go at this over the weekend, but i don't think i did it justice i'm afraid It does make quite a lot of casserole, and my average sized casserole pot was not really up to job and a lot of the liquid bubbled out. in the end it wasn't very liquidy, but it still tasted darned good. I ...

potatoes in growbags

hello has anyone tried growing potatoes in growbags? and before I get lots of cheeky replies I mean turning the bag on its side, emptying a third of the soil, rolling down the sides, planting one spud, and earthing up/rolling back up the sides as necessary. I can't remember where I heard that tip bu...

Thanks peeps, that's really helpful stuff. The problem isn't that it's still fermenting – the bung comes out immediately. push it down - out it pops! it's a question of battling against the air pressure. a dry bung definitely helps, but how much airspace can you leave between the surface of the wine...

After the wine has finished fermenting, and you top up the demijohns and whack a bung in the top ready for storage – how do yo...

I had a cat that used to go CRAZY over Vicks Vapour Rub. If you had some on a hankerchief in your pocket, he would actually wriggle his head inside your trousers to get at the hankie.

Maybe some cats just like strong smells? :?

I bought one of those little wooden pot thingies for £9.99 inc P&P. I sowed straight into them and haven't had any trouble with damping off. But you do have to be careful not to move them about – if they are even a little bit wet, they completely fall apart. I know that sounds a bit obvious, but...

I'm interested to hear what people say about this. I have recently acquired two propagators and thought I was giving my seedlings the best possible start... But now that you mention it I have found that seedlings go leggy very quickly in them. They are fabulous for getting the seeds going quickly, h...
