I will try again soon with our MP Sir Paul Beresford, but up until
now he has not bothered to answer our emails.
The MP for Epsom Chris Grayling has answered our emails.

Re: Our allotments threatened with development.
Hello John, We formed our Leatherhead Poors Allotment Society and joined NSALG. We have had a legal person asking the council questions as to how they registered the land in their name in 2007. I believe they have now said they won't answer any more of his questions, as it is too expensive! He will ...

Re: Our allotments threatened with development.
Hello John, I heard some useful information from the residents Association this morning, they know a lot more about traffic, history and pollution! A group of us were invited say a few words about our situation to the Dorking Allotment Society in a couple of weeks time, they are following our plight...

Re: Our allotments threatened with development.
Hello Mike, We have been having drop in sessions with the council this week, they have been well attended by many angry local residents. Due to article in local paper about the waterlogging of proposed new site, the council have now looked at the site and reduced the available area as they have real...

Re: Our allotments threatened with development.
Hi John, the field you are probably looking at is owned by Merton College Oxford. It is because they want to sell a number of fields around the allotments that the council have decided to join in and see who would be interested in developing the whole area. Merton College own a lot of land in and ar...

We have a facebook page "savebarnettwoodlaneallotments" or something similar not sure exactly.I am also told that we have twitter, but the MVDC (council) have been looking at it. We have also been communicating with someone called Sara from the Watford allotments. I see they have a website...

Re: Our allotments threatened with development.
Thank you John and Peter, You are right about it taking over your life, and we haven't really started yet. Our allotment is 103 plots as I understand it fully occupied. They had to create more plots from unused ground at the back to accomodate the high demand a few years back. Last year they introdu...

Re: Our allotments threatened with development.
Thanks John,
We do believe that the council has just assumed ownership,
but it's difficult to prove.
We are hoping to gather supporters at the informal "meetings"
coming up soon.

Re: Our allotments threatened with development.
Hi Primrose,
I believe they have been there since 1860 and were
given to the people of Leatherhead.
The council now think they own them, but we are looking
into this.

Our allotments threatened with development.
Hello all, We have been told by the council they are offering our allotments up for development. They propose to relocate us to the side of the M25 over a railway line well out of sight in a clay swamp. At the moment we are getting our thoughts together to form an association to fight this.Any tips ...

Re: Borlotti Beans
Hi Alan,
Climbing Bean Corona/Spagna Bean/Fagioli Rampicanti
from The taste of Italy range by Thompson & Morgan.
Big fat white beans that look like pregnant runner beans!
They taste good, I have now frozen them after shelling as
well as the Borlotti.
