Re: Farewell to Woolies.

A shop like 'Maddens' is worth its weight in gold! For my needs we have a small country town high street 1 mile away. The shops combine to provide just about everything I have needed in the last 4 years (except clothes & IT/Comms equipment, I get those via Internet/mail order). I even managed to...

Re: Greenhouse or Swimming Pool?

I like the idea of breeding fish primrose. What about mushroom production! No problems with needing the light, just generate the other needs.

Good morning...Thankyou for your get well wishes. Much appreciated, I'm most definitely on the mend now.
My Lemon tree looks perky this morning! We were due 'feels like -5 C' last night, I don't think it happened, no frost here.

Re: SNOW!!!

Greetings Goldilocks! Nothing like getting snowed in in front of the woodburner (any chance? How much snow due?). We were supposed to go to La Drome area tomorrow but have cancelled our trip for health reasons. We were there the 3rd week of Nov and got snowed in, had to follow the snow plough out of...

Re: Did you get what you wanted for Christmas?

I have not managed to do anything in the garden, have only been firing on one cylinder. I have really enjoyed reading all your cheery comments the last ...

Re: Christmas and New year bits and bobs.

So Monty does have the fiesty JR gene then. We had a springer that would kill rats and leap off an 18ft drop into a fast flowing river from the end of the quay! (Sadly she's gone now, but she had a brilliant life). Dogs can be great fun can't they. I just wanted to announce I have put the first batc...

Re: Thank you Tigger

Tigger wrote this back in 2006: Bread and Butter Pickle This is one of those recipes that looks inadequate. Don't think that it is. It will surprise you. 3 large cucumbers. 3 tblsps salt. 4 onions - sliced. 1 pint white vinegar. 6 ozs sugar. 1 tsp celery seed. 2 tsp mustard seed. Place the sliced cu...

Re: Christmas and New year bits and bobs.

Catherine, I read one just last Friday from Parsons Jack about Long tailed tits. I love the picture of the little dog! He's a cutie!! I wonder if he has the tough nature of a JR?
