Re: Late Spring Bits and Bobs.

Well good news & bad news checking the plot - the Hazel bean poles for the runners remained standing & not even on a lean, however the cane teepee for the climbing French beans was not as lucky & tore out of the ground & blew into the broad beans as I had secured mesh to it for wind ...

Re: Late Spring Bits and Bobs.

It's made it's way down to Dorset proper just now. Was a bit breezy earlier & I thought that was it, & it had run out of puff, but seems it was just warming up. I've just been out the back garden rescuing the pots which it is blowing over & popped them under the patio table. They are all...

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

Well I did get some of the showers, none worth writing home about but quite a few in succession so with any luck I will be able to get the fork into the ground on the last bed to be dug over which is well compacted as was my burn pile dumping ground & then had the burn. Mind could be a flood pla...

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

A tiny bit of precipitation today, got well excited but it was really a tiny bit. Once again the phone weather is in conflict with the news weather in regards to the expectation of some more substantial rain. Fingers crossed!

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

There are so many contradictory weather forecasts around recently I am finding it hard to decide tunnel door open or shut. Nothing below zero despite the warnings inside or outside for a week now which I would take as no more late frosts down here now, but saw 2 different TV stations weather today &...

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

Positively balmy day, so lots down planting & sowing - however methinks they were up too late to have seen the heavy frost this morning & spotted some runners going in. Mad fluctuations in the tunnel 1.4C min and 37.6C max but the toms I had to plant in there as too huge to pot on again as t...

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

Snooky we had the same problem with our Meriva when we had it. I saw programme on TV where they were alerting people to it so I phoned the dealer & had it fixed for free. Might we worth a cheeky phone call to your dealer after a wee search to make sure you have the right year's car as they weren...

Re: Magazine issue month vs when to plant

I can see the reason for it so we can prep for the next month but would be good to see them maybe give a little space for what you can plant in the actual month, like a reminder. Also if they maybe threw in a rough guide about further North wait a couple of weeks, further South give it a go - local ...

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

Positively balmy on lottie today, although the thermometer did not reflect that, just the actual strength of the sun which was shining bright. The soil was so dry so I had the cans out giving the few things sown/planted a drink. It was only when I finished that I remembered the water was now turned ...

Re: PEACE AND QUIET

Electric cars worry me with wildlife crossing roads etc as so quiet, but certainly an option for the plot but most still have a way to go. Batteries too heavy & unbalance the machine or just not enough poke currently, but still early days.

Re: This year's new trial!

OK! I think they got it wrong with Sesame being a problem with germination - they germinate fine but then they start fading & dying. No sign of disease or anything that I can see, perky in the morning & just plain dead by afternoon. So from my mega over sow I am now limping just 3 along whic...

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

I did the same when I planted my Jazzy potatoes OH! He scared people with his openness about his condition a bit I think, but I hope we all contributed by accepting this as his way of coping & he never lost his humour for sure! Cheeky indeed! But such a willing contributor to the forum to welcom...

Re: PEACE AND QUIET

I don't mind it as I kind of count it as seasonal & expect the disruption. I prefer a run of nice days so it is over quicker than it has been this year though with the rain & cold; although there looks to be a run of better weather over the next couple of weeks so won't be long until more pe...

Mines a bit like what Sally has linked, but has a re-set button. I won't be down until Sunday so will check which one but don't think it is ETOH in it, but bought off same site.

Re: New to breeding rabbits and I have a few questions

SophieBunny, I don't have a clue but just wanted to welcome you to the forum. Hold on for an answer as if these guys don't breed themselves they will still know or have someone with experience to help. We used to have someone on the plot with bunnies but they weren't pets (we have the old Victorian ...
