Re: Early Summer Bits and Bobs.
No rain today down on the plots, in fact very still, warm & quiet, probs no more than 20 of us down & not one strimmer in action! Did all the re-sows needed, so next step is structures. I was once again in awe of seeds; sown, nearly drowned, got cold, hunkered down & still enough energy ...

Re: A mindful moment
Brilliant Burnie! Absolutely love anything to do sitting & listening to the waves, so calming. I'm very close to the beach but I like it way more during storms when the tourists have disappeared into the pub! Us locals have a special spot further down where the River Avon & Stour totally mer...

Re: Early Summer Bits and Bobs.
OH I think starting Early Summer Bits & Bobs might be lucky. Since mentioned my phone weather has updated & it looks pretty good for the next week or so down here. Not 100% fine, but no big rain or wind & temp is holding. Looks way better now than it did so fingers crossed they don't cha...

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
Sorry to hear you have been battling through Covid Barney, sneaky thing is not going away. General consensus among my nursing friends is that this is strongly related to those that declined to take up the jabs who either did succumb but mild symptoms that may have been overlooked, & also it keep...

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
PS: OH, might as well start the Early Summer Bits & Bobs! It might be a blink & miss it type of summer or brilliant, either way it technically is time that is cleverly covered by the 'Early' bit!

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
Finally finished all the weeding, despite my neighbours best intentions to get me to confirm the layouts of his bought flower plants did not look like a council park several times. Some bonuses when I weeded the onions as found quite a few that had popped up after my re-sows, so now have squeezed th...

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
We seem to be holding onto the warm weather for a bit longer, temp is dropping but not to anything remotely cold but might notice it early morning. Deffo going to get the last 2 beds weeded as No1 job tomorrow & then I will water & fill the butts as most folk will be back at work so no waiti...

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
Just 2 beds left to sort! Should have done them all but lots of folk down wanting to chat, it's essential to stop & communicate...read find out the gossip! Might have a brief window tomorrow morning, if I can drag myself down, but I'm pretty knackered.

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
Had to play at being a grown up today with getting some groceries in, but quite nice - well except the bit where they changed the shelf layout, but survived it with under breath cussing. Extra special was one very common shop might have listened to me, & likely others moaning. They only put one ...

Or might be the compost Myrkk? Seen a lot of posts online saying this years peat free is even worse than last year, not from the content of twigs & stuff as that has improved, but just the compost itself. Maybe the twigs & bits held some moisture??

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
I can understand your worry with updating your phone Clive, had the same when I upgraded mine, but I just said I wanted to keep the number & they did, I was surprised to say the least, there is usually some hiccough! Nice & sunny when I got up, but the fog started rolling in on my way to the...

Re: Germination rates
Ditto here Ian, I'm on my 3rd sow. I definitely know the first ones at least came up so seeds are viable but they were obviously taken by the slimy things soon after. I re-dug the area & found a couple of small slugs & a couple of snails & removed them, but obviously missed their friends...

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
Brilliant day down here as well. Was still a bit of a nip when I went down but as soon as the sun burn't off the low cloud it was all go! The bonus was the automatic vents opened on cue...thanks OH for your patience with fixing this. Making progress, but my highlight was seeing our resident fox up c...

Re: Borrow rather than buy?
Could try Market Place or the 'Up North' equivalent? Was a time most areas had a local paper that you could place an ad in to sell without the risk of bad folk trying to suss your home security, but there are still genuine companies who will take stuff off your hands. You won't get near its worth fr...

Sorry to hear this is still occurring Stravaig - Don't leave! The forum is responding by doing post removal but obviously this person is circumventing this, probs cutting & pasting posts to store. Please keep chasing this up with the admin or Peter. You're the only one affected to date but the m...
