Power steering playing up on my Meriva so took it to the garage.Pump leaking and "that will be £900 please,Sir"and labour on top!!The annoying part is that it is a well known fault on Merivas'.Pretty well brassed off.

Max/Min Thermometer.
My old thermometer bounced this morning and didn't do it much good.Looked for a new one on line and could only find digital versions,would like the old fashioned mercury type.Anyone have an idea where I might purchase one?Or are they like Rocking Horse poo these days.

Might try "Mini Sweetcorn".Never grown it and there is a variety called"Minipop" so if I can find it then it will be this years experiment.

Following on from what Sally has written about growing pots for tomatoes etc is there an optimum size pot for starting offthe various sized seeds? Whilst washing 3" pots to start off Sweetcorn seeds I had a sudden thought that it may be that I should be using a bigger size pot or even a smaller...

Sorted an overgrown soft fruit area on my allotment,kept what I wanted and put the rest out for people to take away which they have done.So hopefully they will be a success for their new owners.

We have a Goldfinch visiting the garden and stripping sprigs from the Thyme plants.I guess that it is nesting nearby and wants it to smell nice!!!
