Wondered why there were Begonia flowers on the deck. The culprit is the resident Grey Squirrel. It reaches up to the plant nips the flower off, takes a bite of the petals, drops it and goes on to the next spoiling a good display. The traps are coming out of storage!!

Farnborough air show next week and the planes which will be flying and on show have been practicing flying over the airport and town. This has led to road closures, because of Shoreham, which seems a bit silly when you have the likes of a 777 and large military planes flying over housing estates betwee...

Hello Primrose,
Bees can forage for pollen etc, upto five miles from the hive but on average it is only within a mile radius and during its lifetime a Bee can travel the equivalent of to the moon and back in its quest.

Re: Elephant Garlic
But how do you use Elephant Garlic in cooking..?It isn't a true garlic but, I understand, belongs to the onion family and very mild in taste.I grew it many years ago and the only use I could find was to grate or slice it into a salad or roast it with the Sunday joint as a side dish.I have never seen ...

Struggling to look up and turn my head as my neck and shoulder muscles felt "tight" so after a bit of nagging from my sister went and had a massage.Nothing too strenuous,a firm Swedish going over, and my first professional massage. What a difference to my neck and shoulders when finished.Sh...

Re: Asparagus
There is another possibility in addition to variety size and fertilization results. Asparagus crowns migrate to the surface of the soil over time because the new crown grows on top of last year's crown every year. Asparagus beds should be maintained so 3 to 5 inches of soil covers the crowns. Crowns...
