Re: Sowing outdoor tomatoes

yes, I have them in 3" pots in the greenhouse for now (on a heated propogator with no lid). I am trying to collect enough 5L water bottles to use as cloches for when they do go out.

Re: This year's new trial!

I'm trying kalettes this year. My DH likes sprouts, but not kale, and I don't like sprouts, hopefully they'll be tasty enough for us both!

I've also got a bucket of chicken manure pellets, I'll probably beef up the soil with these as well.

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

Hello Primrose, Thanks for asking, the soil is looking good after it's dressing of 80L composted manure. Still quite stony, but I'll pick those out as I go. Garlic looks healthy, and I have been feeding it just in case. Everything else is still under cover or not sown yet. I'm not entirely sure how ...

Lettuce, leek, cosmos, california poppy, tomato and pepper seedlings are up in the greenhouse. The latter two in heated propogators.

Re: Early Spring Bits and Bobs

Yep, freezing here today. Did manage , however, to plant a copper birch sapling and clear out the border behind so I can now buy more plants (see:addiction thread!) most likely ferns, as it it a shady space and they are a favourite.

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

My vice is plants. Honestly, I even try and save the half dead ones on sale ! I buy and propagate more, even when I have no spare space.
