HURST SEEDS

I was chatting with a fellow allotment holder, and we were chatting about seeds, and a seed company that we remembered was HURST SEEDS.
The packs were black, with the logo red. we have not seen the hurst seeds company since the early 1990s. Can anyone remember them?

Re: Duff Seed?

I planted onion seed the first week in Jan in heated propagator - absolutely nothing came up. I re-sowed some on 23/1 and nothing from them either. The seed was bought fresh from the garden centre this year but on reflection they did not have much avail so it could have been old seed but it is in d...

RAIN

It doesn't feel like there's been anything like as much rain as last year; perhaps because we've not had floods everywhere. I have found the forecasts to be wildly at variance with reality over the past few weeks. BBC have forecast doom and gloom and it's often been fine and dry. Metcheck have fore...

Re: sweetcorn caterpillar

I spotted a type of caterpillar I don't recognise in amongst the dying-back tassels of a sweetcorn cob. I tried to remove it so I could have a closer look, but in my clumsiness, dropped it and couldn't find it. The tip of the cob in question was slightly eaten away and had a couple of holes in it. ...
