Re: I am awful fed up

Stravaig, I have just seen this post as I am away. I do hope you get to somewhere that gives you peace. Stress is a horrible thing as I can vouch for that. All the very best to you and do keep in touch to let us know how you are getting on. X

Re: Lost my mojo

Thank you so much for your kind comment Stravaig. I hope everything is as well as can be expected for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and everyone in the Ukraine right now. I was dreading the 7th June but I feel now I have got over that date I need to try and focus. This ye...

Re: Lost my mojo

So sorry to hear that, what a lovely thought regarding the trees. I must admit I don't have many friends, never have had. I am better on my own or with my oh. We are both the same, which is handy! Most people you meet wonder why you still get upset almost a year on! I hope the rose flourishes.

Re: Lost my mojo

Thank you for your kind reply OH. I am just ticking over at the moment, not achieving much. I grew lots of dahlia's from seed last year which were very successful and beautiful. I have tried to do this again this year. I also rescued a lot of bulbs that Alison had bought and never had the chance to ...

Re: Lost my mojo

Dear Catherine, I am sorry to hear about your daughter's death, it would have been a huge shock & with the first anniversary coming up your thoughts are going to be in turmoil, your concentration on gardening limited. It's not loosing your mojo as such but learning to cope with a huge void in y...

Re: Lost my mojo

Hello, Catherine, nice to hear from you again but I am so sorry to hear about your daughter and can imagine how that hit you hard. Do give your gardening another go this year - it will give you something to look forward to, even if you lose some to pests and other baddies. And do keep joining in th...

Lost my mojo

We've had our allotment for 22 years and have grown ton's of stuff over the years. Since our daughter died suddenly on the 7th June last year I have lost my mojo. This yearI have only sown a few caulis, broccoli's and cabbages and some lettuce in the polytunnel. Some courgettes, which I have had rea...

Re: Very nosy neighbours what can I do?

Hi Steven. Your comment made me laugh out loud. Never had a reply so long after the original post. We still have problems, but not too often, now he's deaf and watches sport in the consservatory! Drives me mad.

Re: I have to supress my feelings...

Thank you Stephen. She had been working from home for 18 months and was slightly overweight and hadn't been feeling well for a few weeks. She had a pulmonery embolism. Very quick. Thank goodness. I despair with the other allotments around us. But there is nothing we can do as the people who manage t...

Re: I have to supress my feelings...

Thank you Primrose, it has been an an extremely difficult time. The majority of plot holders have chickens and no veg. They are not interested in the other plots unless they can have chickens on them. They now all call their plots pens! Not allotments. And unfortunately the answer is no to all your ...

Re: I have to supress my feelings...

Very disheartening when this happens. But trust me that is good compared with what we have surrounding our plot. We have five unused plots surrounding us. People have been dumping unwanted rubbish on them. The willow trees cut down a few years ago have sprouted and we are plagued with rats because o...

Re: Vitamin D

I take Glucosamine and chondroitin and Cod Liver oil, and because I had low Vitamin D two years ago (no idea why given I have an allotment) and am never in the house if I can possibly help it) I take Vit D. I do know when I have missed my tablets as my arthritis starts to kick in. Unfortunately I fe...
