It was above zero today but still lots of frozen ground and ice.

I did dig over one bed, just to allow the frost to penetrate further. I hope it will crack some of the clay and kill a few slugs & snails (is that rather nasty?)

it kinda narks me every month to feel like I'm being punished for being loyal. Me too! The constant need for push back is tiring and wasteful. Melting like fun now. The road has a reflective surface sheen and there is some rain too.

Precious little has melted here. I doubt I will try to get the car out tomorrow; the penalty of living on an unadopted road is no gritting (fair enough) and few cars. The snow gets compacted and if it freezes overnight I would slide around for sure (rear wheel drive, only weighs 525kg, ordinary, rat...

Not much more than a dusting but as it is an unadopted road, it won't get cleared, unless the residents find we need to do so
