My experiment this year is salsify. I'm a little sceptical but now have the space to experiment.

Our electricity has just come on after cutting out at 5pm last night. Perhaps I can buy a big polytunnel frame and put enough mesh over it to cover the entire plot. That might work.

I have been fortunate in my white goods. Washing machine dates back to 2002 when I moved into the current abode. A fridge-freezer is older, I must have bought it in 1997.

I read in a play (I think) that before the expression "the best thing since sliced bread" - dreadful phrase, is pre-sliced bread a good thing?) there was "The best thing since sunlight soap". I think I may adopt this.
