I give my weeds to my chickens as a scratchy. It gets pilled up each day, torn apart by the chickens only to be added to. This had happened to me in the past and was told that the seeds can rot away if watered after planting. I now soak the seeds prior to planting and not again until they appear. I now have complete success.

I have tried both methods and non-blanching is by far better and you dont waste time. I just then take them from the freezer and microwave them when needed. My kids can also do all the cutting up which they enjoy.
