Re: Winter bits and bobs.

Well the morning started off nice and bright but, this afternoon turned out rather dull.
Cleared the last of the leaves at one garden, then stacked a truck load of logs for them….they said it looked like a work of art!

Fieldfares.

Got quite a few Fieldfares here at the moment but, not many apples about for them!

I always think of Johnboy, when I see them….he used to love reporting, as the different types of birds arrived, or departed.

Re: Autumn Bits and Bobs.

My hip is worn, as are a few of my lower discs….I find just keeping active is the best thing….just keep thinking how fit I used to be, I could dig for 12 hours and still didn’t feel that tired…..just done two and a half hours of digging and I know i’ve done them…

Re: Anyone Tried Foraged Foods in Recipes?

I’m starting to wonder if the new forum members, can’t get back onto the forum after posting their first post….it’s at least 3 new members now, that have asked a sensible question, then don’t seem to visit the forum again, despite getting some good answers!

Re: Autumn Bits and Bobs.

I managed to get the 220 onion sets in, so pleased about that, then harvested a big bucketful of beetroot for my Mum.
Need to cut the grass over the allotments again, as it’s nearly 4 inches tall….maybe tomorrow!

Re: Autumn Bits and Bobs.

Morning Clive, glad you explained ritted, not a word I have heard before, I must admit! My allotments have got away a little again this year, loads of chickweed on them, as it’s been just too wet to hoe them and with this mild Autumn, is growing like fury…..been considering packing one of them up, a...

Re: Any Strimmer recommendations?

Morning Westi, I think all the cheaper ones are very much the same, so just depends how much you want to spend!
The one piece of advice I would give if you do get one is, to keep the grass strimmed often and while still short….as the one thing they struggle with is, long thick grass.
