Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.

I feel quite guilty now, Burnie……hopefully you will get a brighter day tomorrow!

Had a couple of hours over the allotments after lunch, and managed to get my bean canes up and 70 runner beans planted too, so very pleased, as it started raining heavily just as I had finished…..🙂

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.

I’m starting to get arthritis is many joints now and i’m sure it’s certain foods that make it worse!
Turned out nice now but, many large puddles still laying about…..at least it’s going to warm up next week, so at least the weeds will take off….🙂

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.

I know I have said it before but, I always panic at this time of the year, at the big gardens I do, as it looks and feels as if they are going to get away from me……especially in a wet Spring and this has been the worse one I have known! Just been and picked an arm-full of Rhubarb…..something I have ...

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.

Everywhere is flooded here again but, hopefully it will drain and dry off fairly quickly!
On a positive note, things in the greenhouse are coming on leaps and bounds actually, things are burgeoning in there.

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.

No Swallows here yet, but hopefully soon…..
We had just enough rain last night and today, to stop work on the allotments again!
And very heavy rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning….

I wonder if we will get a late frost?

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.

I haven’t planted any tender plants out yet…..not after losing stuff at the end of May last year!
Nice and bright here today, but the wind still has a bite to it…..the weekend end is looking really grim again, with lots of rain….

Re: Flies in meshed raised bed

Never heard of anything like that…..I think I would just let them out and see if they stop emerging.

And a warm welcome to the forum from me too, Mandy.

Now that’s very special, think you should have the first one, Vivien, just to make sure they are okay, of course……🙂

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.

Had glasses for a few years now, just for reading but, I was having a job doing screen work, so got some new ones a couple of months ago. I needed to get a couple of very wet lawns cut this morning, so went over them with my leaf blower first, makes a huge difference……border work is still very slow ...

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.

Another damp, drizzly morning here, work is becoming a real challenge to get certain jobs completed!
Maybe next week will be bright and sunny…..not sure how many weeks I have been saying that now…..

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.

Just watched your video, Burnie, very enjoyable as always… I have just started to share the wonders of gardening with my youngest Sons, girlfriend….and she absolutely loves it…her face when she saw her first seeds coming through was a real picture to behold….can’t wait until she digs her first potat...
