Re: Blaby special tomato seed?

No luck with sourcing seeds from my fellow plotholder, but I searched online and found a US supplier who has stock, see the Secret seed cartel…

Re: Blaby special tomato seed?

This rang a bell with me so I’ve just been looking back in my records and I grew this variety in 2011! My notes said the plant I grew in my home greenhouse initially grew well but then got stem rot and failed, ? try again? There’s no record of me trying again the following year. I can’t remember whe...

Re: What variety is this aubergine?

'Mohican' is a white fruited variety that I grow, and is a good 'doer', but I confess I haven't noticed any differences the in leaves or paler flowers...... :?

Re: Jemmer Courgette

I have tried Jemmer several times and remain unimpressed. I either lost plants early, or they cropped miserably. Last year I grew 'Parador', another yellow variety, as was most impressed. Good yields and the foliage remianed more compact and 'bush' like, instead of trailing. That is what I shall be ...

I'm also a big fan of Marshmellow....I have had a load of fruit from my original 10 plants that I got at GWL last year, and the first year runners have been a suprise, also a fair bit of fruit (even though I know you are supposed to stop them...) I also love Gariguette, it's taste is just fantastic.

Bung them under your brassicas....they act as good companion plants and help suppress weeds too. I've just sown some direct under mine, peach melba and mahogany. :D

I regret to say I have always failed miserably with melons whatever variety I have tried to grow! They love warmth, plenty of food, and most people nip the growing tip out to limit the size of the plant and the number of fruits it will support. Last year I grew 4 different types in my lottie greenho...

I did three sowings last year, Boxing Day, end of Jan and end of Feb....best germination was in Feb, and all caught up to be the same size (big!) in the end, so I have sown mine three days ago this year! :D

OH has just told me he heard a noise form behind our living room radiator late last night, on investigation found a large frog one of our ginger toms had bought in! One of my cats once tried to get in through the catflap with a very large and still flapping magpie, he let it go when it wouldn't fit ...

My melons have finally given up the struggle in both my home greenhouse and little lottie one

They got to flowering stage, grew a few tiny fruit and promptly succumbed to mildew...

Not sure I will try again....
