I have just received a delivery of onion sets - Red Baron. I have been growing onions for several years and they are the largest I have ever seen - on average about 3.5 cm diameter. My reference book (Joy Larkcom) recommends smaller sets and advises to avoid large ones as they tend to bolt. Any tho...

lost my greenhouse 14 x 6 ,insurers coming round this week to assess the damage,havent been to the plot yet but my next door neighbours polytunnell will be in a mess im sure,it was slack before these winds

hydrated lime

hi there ,hope someone can help me out again.

i have a bag of hydrated lime left over from dashing my bungalow,the qeustion is can i use this on the allotment or would it be best to get a bag of lime from the local agricultural shop??

it is only my second year at growing and the first at rotavating has i dug my plot over with a fork last year due to the amount of weeds :shock:
