Poisonous? Is that only to humans? The first year it self seeded its self every where, now I have to fight with the birds and the mice for seeds.

Can anyone identify this plant please?
I was given seeds years ago and grow this plant each year but I have long forgotten its name, can anyone help? There are a number of products you can buy from garden centres to eliminate blanket weed but I would leave treating your pond until after your tadpoles have left the pond. The algae the tadpoles feed on will also be eliminated. The easiest way to remove it for now is to twist it around a rough stick...
