Help! - Urgently need to redesign my wormery!
Help! - Urgently need to redesign my wormery! I got around to harvesting my first lot of compost this w/e and found that the bottom of my bin - is unsatisfactory! I thought I had no worms left, but they were nearly all in the sump! They seemed to be fine (I read yesterday that Tiger worms are quite ...

Hi Chantal and Plumpudding - have you done your spring clean and what does it entail please? I haven't seen any activity since back end of last year, so am wondering what to expect in there - I stopped feeding around Christmas, as the food was being eaten so minimally and I didn't want it to back up...

I've been using a piece of old carpet, which I just cut to size, although it seems rather pointless at the mo, as the only visible life form is still the (aforementioned) 'nematodes'! Although I notice that in the bunch of wilted coriander leaves I rather lazily dumped without chopping the other day...

identifying the 'Little white jobs'!
Oh dear - thankyou GIB for alerting me to what the LWJ's might be! Anyway I got straight on to checking this out, but it might have been more useful if I hadn't been quite so flippant in my description ...it seems that in fact they are a type of nematode, a friendly type that shows that my worm hous...

At first I was worried I wasn't do it right, I remember I wrote about them escaping alot! Well now I know that they were hungry, and so I just ...

Thanks for your helpful comments - however, this morning I found 2 'escapees' one on the outside of the lid and one on nearby soil! I looked in this evening and about half a dozen are attempting another gettaway by climbing up the sides aiming for the lid! I think the holes we made may be too big, a...

My new family!
I've just taken delivery of my new family of dendrobaenas, I got them from Scottish Worms in Kirkudbright, and they have now been in residence for 3 days! I could only count about 120 of them but they do seem to diguise themselves don't they?! I just want to know at this early stage - how much do I ...

Hi I'm new!
Hi I've just found this site - I was looking up stuff about making a wormery - and now I've got questions about everything! We only have a postage stamp of a garden, but now that my kids are older I'd like to make more of it. So I'm off now to write on the 'wormery anyone?' thread and see what I can...
