Plums flowering year 2

At the beginning of last year I got 2 plum trees on VVA1 dwarfing rootstock.
They put out no new growth last year and now are covered in blossom.
They are only 3 to 4 feet high. Plums I've grown in the past took 4 or 5 years to flower.

Does anyone have any experience of this ?

Re: KG June

The wording on page 110 of the May issue - Next Month - says there will be 6 free packets of seeds inside the June issue.

This year I heard about grafted plants and decided to invest in two (Scorpio). I am pleased to report that they performed as advertised. They grew in s...

Squash Pollination

I have 2 butternut squash plants which finally started flowering in August. I have 2 questions : A. About 6 female flowers have been pollinated by separate males, but only 1 has set. How do you get more to set ? B. 2 females have developed into growing squashes without the flowers having opened at a...

KG Feb. Free Seeds

The February issue cover and Editor's welcome refer to 3 packets of seeds that should be on the cover.

I haven't got any - have you ?

Composted Wood Chippings

4 years ago I covered part of my garden with wood chippings on a membrane. Now they have broken down and are like a mulch or compost. Are they of use to anybody ?

KG Cover

The December issue cover photo (and inside article) shows some over-ripe and slightly damaged raspberries. Wouldn't perfect fruit be more appealing ?
