Potting on Onion seeds?
Hi everyone, I have sown some Onion seeds in modules, Kelsae and Red baron, I was wondering as they are in individual modules do I need to tranplant into pots at the 'Shepherds crook' stage or let them grow on and plant out from the modules when big enough and weather allows? Enjoy a good growing ye...

Having been given two raised beds from my mother-in-law that she was not using, she went one further and bought me a ton of topsoil to put in them (bless her!)

Audley End (the end?)
Hi all, For fathers day my wife and little girl took me to the above grounds where I had read in the various magazines how it was an Organic Victorian walled Kitchen garden. Well they were correct about the wall, but the rest I found somewhat disappointing. There were weeds all over the place and a ...

Balls with holes!
Hi all,
I am looking for those Green balls with holes in that you can use with canes to make fruit cages etc. Anybody have any idea who makes them or what they are called? I have tried several Garden centers and although they know what I mean they do not have them.
Thanks for the help
Nick

Hiya mate,
You could try plantimg your pumpkins at the base ofthe sweetcorn as the leaf coverage will stop any weeds growing.
Good luck

Do I pot them on into 3 inch pots, if so how much of the plant goes into the compost. The only references I have read talk about sowing them o...

Broad Beans
A few weeks ago I planted my beans as I was having an operation. They were Aquadulce from Kings seeds and everyone has germinated and is about 4 inches tall now. I have covered them with fleece to just keep the worst of the frosts off(if there are any!!) I sowed them 9 inches apart in two rows 12 in...

I know what all of the books say about planting new canes etc, but I have some Autumn fruiting canes (that are still fruiting at the moment!!) and I wondered if instead of just cutting them down to ground level in Feb, when the fruit has gone I can dig some up and replant on my allotment, cutting do...
