I think the natural acidity of the toms helps them keep. Though I have heard of people adding some citric acid as well. I bottle the passata hot and then cover in water and boil for 20 mins or so to finish the process off, so far so good. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y222/sandersj89/Allotment%20...

If you dont cover the toms with oil to keep the air of them you can get a bit of mould.

I watch our jars and top up the oil if required.

Try a solution of one part milk to 9 parts water and spraying it on the leaves, Bicarb is also said to work but not sure of the concentration.

Firefox Problems

I am now mainly using Firefox as my browser of choice over Internet Explorer but I cannot seem to log into the site with this browser, in IE all is fine.

Are there any funnies in the system for Firefox users?

Thanks

I echo all the comments about power in the greenhouse, I have it and use it for heating, lighting and ventilation in the summer. Water is also a must but it is much cheaper to do. I have no tap on the greenhouse but have fed water to the house using drip irrigation kit. From a tap by the back door t...
