I have 4 different varieties in the greenhouse including a plum type a yellow and a black one they do have labels I have just forgotten their names and garden pearl and tumbler and gardeners delight outside all have been ripening for 2 weeks though a first just 1 or 2 a day and I thought I was late ...

I used to do the same as the others, now I have a dehyrdrator but being scared of botulism instead of storing in oil I freeze them they take up a fraction of the space and if frozen on a silcon mat I can get out just as many as I need and the flavour is fantastic

hardly a recipe as very easy ! Taken from Readers Digest 'Food from your Garden' Pickled Nasurtium seeds Pick the seeds on a dry day then wash and steep in a brine solution of 2oz salt to a pint of water or 50g to 600ml Drain and pack into small jars to within 1inch of the top cover with cold spiced...

I dry mine ad then freeze them sounds a little odd I know but I am frightened of botulism if stored in oil, when frozen they are easy to use and have a much more intense flavour and also take up a lot less room !

I grow mini cucmbers and have to keep picking them like courgettes to allow others to form if I get too many to pickle I feed them to the hens who love them, do try Tiggers Bread & butter pickle recipe if you get a glut it is delicous and mine was still producing some fruit in October last year !

at the bottom of our drive(Cattle grid) it says no unauthorised vehicles and no parking and the gate 150yds further on it says private no thoroughfare and no parking yet we always get people driving in to park ! we have a gate alarm so if we and or staff are here always challenge people they always ...

I have a pond in my garden and our bats have been here for nearly 3 weeks I have a spot light on it and sometimes we switch it on to get a better view of them

I keep Silkies which cannot fly at all and Guineas who do fly and when startled fly up into the trees though mine are tame and most nights come home and sleep with the silkies or in their own hut occassionally we have a dirty stop out or 2

try adding a small amount of sugar to the canned ones about a sm teaspoon works wonders
